The business track will offer an endless amount of ideas and inspiration to help school owners build better businesses and develop new income streams. A few new sessions will include such groundbreaking topics as improving the impact of marketing and public relations (utilizing samples of brochures, advertising, newsletters, and websites that have been proven to increase enrollment) and maximizing performance opportunities to help increase enrollment (featuring new ways to utilize students’ talent to improve their skills and the school’s bottom line). Sessions and roundtables will cover everything from “How I Managed to Build My Own Building” to “My Wife Is a Dance Teacher.”
For the first time, we will offer “studio owner only” sessions that will cover everything from staff wages, salaries, incentives, hiring and firing, faculty contracts and how they work, and how to determine who is an employee and who is a subcontractor. Due to popular demand, we will offer a special session for those who are thinking about retiring or passing on their businesses, titled “Developing an Exit Strategy for School Owners.”
The business track is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for school owners to rejuvenate their businesses and experience once again the excitement they felt when they first opened their schools.

For years school owners who have attended Project Motivate have said, “I love your message, but I need to get my faculty and staff to hear it.” The DanceLife Conference is the answer. Classroom teachers will not only hear the message through motivational talks, they will be inspired by a faculty that will explore every aspect of the classroom, from ideas and methods to improve students’ technique to innovative preschool curriculums. Classes will focus on material and choreography that spans the recreational, intermediate, and advanced levels.
Another defining aspect of the classroom track will be the concept of creating a positive classroom atmosphere. Whether the problem is discipline or dealing with unenthusiastic students, the DanceLife Teacher Conference will offer advice about classroom behaviors that will inspire students and ensure that they return year after year. |
This year we will offer a session called “My Role as a Studio Manager,” which will explore everything from customer service to a comprehensive job description for what I believe is one of the most significant roles in the dance school business. Studio managers also will have the opportunity to attend the entire business track. (With permission from their employers, they may be invited to attend “studio owner only” sessions.)
