Let's be copasetic!

Tap dance legend and movie star Bill "Bojangles" Robinson Always said " Everything is copasetic." It means everything is ok, fine alright or "cool". Being copasetic means respecting others and respecting their rights.

Tap came to our country about the time when our mid-western plains were first being crossed by rail. Tap was making its way across America. It was a new kind of music, a music that threw away the instruments and danced the notes instead. Today, you see tap in all forms of media, including, rap videos, on the Broadway stage, and on the silver screen.

At Nancy Mulford Studio of Dance, you will learn all styles of tap. Our teachers were trained in both classical tap, which is a form of tap danced mainly on the balls of the feet, using classical arms, or rhythm tap (hoofing) which is done very close to the floor. Arms are not stressed as much. Rhythm tap is more about the sound than the movement.
