Non Recital Track Classes

Ages 1-3

45 MINUTE CLASS

AGES 12-36 MONTHS

 

We are excited to offer this class designed for toddlers 12-36 months old and their parents! This class is sure to be the highlight of the week for the children and adults who participate. Filled with songs, movement (and laughter, too) each session has been carefully planned to help develop and promote your child’s physical and mental growth while socializing in a relaxed, fun-filled atmosphere.

What to Wear

*Both adult and young are free to wear comfortable clothing and socks or leather ballet slippers. Dancewear such as leotard, tights, ballet skirt and tutu of any color are welcomed!

Non Recital Track Classes

Ages 2-3

ALL BY MYSELF- 30 MINUTE CLASS

This class has been specifically designed 2-3 year olds who may not yet potty trained but want to try class alone, like the big kids! This class is 30 minutes long and offered as a full year or as a 6 week non recital course. Through movement exercises, games, stories, and other activities, the very young are introduced to the joy of creative movement in a fun, musical setting.

What to Wear

*Students are free to wear comfortable clothing and socks or leather ballet slippers. Dancewear such as leotard, tights, ballet skirt and tutu of any color are welcomed!

Ages 3-5

45 MINUTE CLASS

Children who are ready to be in a class by themselves will begin to learn the basic elements of creative movement and basic ballet and/or tap: Socialization skills such as turn-taking and following instructions will be emphasized. The young children will explore movement qualities, musicality, practice gross motor coordination and work on simple locomotion, enhancing the development of both their bodies and their minds! Students must be potty trained for this class.

What to Wear

*It is recommended students wear pink leotard, skirt optional, pink footed tights and pink leather ballet slippers and/or black tap shoes. Hair should be pulled back neatly in a bun or ponytail.  It is recommended gentlemen wear a white t-shirt and black bottoms (pants or shorts), black leather ballet slippers and/or black tap shoes.

Ballet/tap

Ages 4-6

BALLET+TAP- 60 MINUTE CLASS

 

 In this class, students will work on ballet and tap. Ballet positions, as well as basic ballet vocabulary are taught along with floor exercises, simple steps and correct posture. A greater emphasis on musicality and rhythm is encouraged. Tap will build upon basic steps and rhythms.

What to Wear

*It is recommended students wear a leotard, skirt optional, pink footed tights and pink leather ballet slippers and black tap shoes. Hair should be pulled back neatly in a bun or ponytail. It is recommended gentlemen wear a white t-shirt and black bottoms (pants or shorts), black leather ballet slippers and/or black tap shoes.

Ballet/tumble

Ages 4-6

BALLET TUMBLE- 45 MINUTE CLASS

 

For the first 30 minutes of class students will practice the basic elements of creative movement and basic ballet. The children will be encouraged to expand their movement vocabulary through movement games and creative exploration of time, weight and space. Basic ballet concepts such as 1st and 2nd positions, plié and releve will be introduced. The last 15 minutes will be spent on tumbling skills such as somersaults, cartwheels and strengthening.

What to Wear

*It is recommended students wear a leotard, skirt optional, pink footed tights and pink leather ballet slippers. Hair should be pulled back neatly in a bun or ponytail. It is recommended gentlemen wear a white t-shirt and black bottoms (pants or shorts) and black leather ballet slippers.

Hip-Hoppin' tots

Ages 4-6

HIP-HOPPIN’ TOTS- 45 MINUTE CLASS

 

This class serves as an introduction to hip hop dance for the younger student. Using games and music, the class focuses on rhythm, musicality and basic footwork. It is a great way to get kids moving!

What to Wear

*Students may wear street clothes or comfortable clothing such as shorts, yoga pants, t-shirt or tank top. Hair should be pulled back neatly. It is recommended students wear black low-top Converse sneakers. No black-soled sneakers please.

Ages 4-6

TRIPLE COMBO – 90 MINUTE CLASS

 

In this class, students will work on three genres of dance: ballet, tap and jazz. Ballet positions, as well as basic ballet vocabulary are taught along with floor exercises, simple steps and correct posture. A greater emphasis on musicality and rhythm is encouraged. Jazz will be introduced using upbeat “kid friendly” music. Basics such as isolations, jazz squares, pivots will be taught. Tap will build upon basic steps and rhythms.

(Students can opt for 60 minute ballet/jazz section)

Hair should be pulled back neatly in a bun or ponytail. It is recommended gentlemen wear a white t-shirt and black bottoms (pants or shorts), black leather ballet slippers and/or black tap shoes.

Gymnastics

Ages 4-18

GYMNASTICS -60 Minut Class

 

Students will learn basic floor work. The Beginner level will work on basic techniques such as cartwheels, round-offs, hand stands and forward rolls. The Intermediate/Advanced level will work towards skills such as front and backhand springs, side ariels, front ariels, and many more challenging skills.

 

What to Wear

*It is recommended students wear a leotard or unitard with footless tights or bare legs, and bare feet. Gentlemen may wear a form fitting bottom, pants or shorts and tshirt, bare feet.

Recital Track Classes

Ages 7-Adult

MUSICAL THEATER Musical theater class consists of acting games, voice exercises, dance, improvisation and eurhythmics (the art of interpreting musical compositions by rhythmical, free-style bodily movement), stage directions, story telling, characters and performing.

What to Wear

*It is recommended students wear a leotard, footed tights, ballet skirt or dance shorts, ballet slippers or jazz oxfords. Hair should be pulled back neatly in a bun or ponytail. It is recommended the gentlemen wear black bottoms, pants or shorts, white T, and jazz oxfords

Adult tap, ballet, contemporary

Teen-Adult

-ADULT-60 Minute Class

 

Tap is an upbeat class will teach the students rhythm made by movement of the feet. Tap is an American dance form, essential in developing timing, rhythm and coordination.

Ballet covers the basics of barre work, across the floor, and center work.

Contemporary uses pop music and movements are based on ballet technique along with more flowing movements.

ALL CLASSES ARE FUN AND A GREAT WORKOUT. NO PREVIOUS TRAINING NEEDED.

What to Wear

We recommend comfortable clothing, leotards + tights or leggings and a tshirt.
